Mr. de la Torre is an Agronomy Engineer and Bachelors of Art in Sociology with a regional Development Specialty from the University of Rennes (France)
Today, Mr de la Torre is the Mayor-President of the city of Malaga (since April 2000). He is also a member of the Executive Committee of the Spanish Federation of Municipalities and Provinces.
Past Experience:
• President of the Local Finance Committee of the Spanish Federation of
Municipalities and Provinces (April 2001 to May 2003).
• Deputy Mayor of Malaga, City Councilman for Housing, Construction and
Territorial Development (June 1995 to April 2000).
• President of the Malaga Transport Company (June 1995 to June 1999).
• Head of the Malaga Delegation of Agriculture.
• Representative in Congress for Malaga (June 1977 to October 1982).
• Minister of Economy and Finance and Tourism of the first Junta de Andalusia
pre-autonomic.
• President of the Malaga Provincial Government.
